Lilith Fair
The Office TV Show Series on NBC: Dwight's Schrute Space Blog 27 Aug 2010, 3:36 am CEST
Sometimes, after spending a few long days on the farm, I like to escape it all and go to the country fair to look at other people's livestock. That's how I've been spending my "me time." Last month Jim Halpert, a willowy numskull I work beside, recommend I attend a huge fair traveling to Philadelphia. I took his advice, and headed out of town, to the Lilith Fair.
It turns out, Lilith Fair is some sort of concert celebrating women! There wasn't any livestock to be seen (except for a few "performers") and several people mistook me for a lesbian - after walking around I could see how they made this mistake, there were many people with questionable genders. It always surprises me how the words "feminine" and "feminist" look so similar but rarely do their concepts overlap. Manufacturers of feminine hygiene products sponsored the festival. This got me wondering, after weeks of touring together could it be possible that all these women were on the same menstrual cycle? Concluding that this concert could turn into an angry PMS mob at any moment, I decided to cut my losses and go. In the end, I didn't see any blue ribbons being awarded; the closest thing was a pink ribbon I got to show support for breast cancer.
